It's been a while since I updated the site. I was extremely proud of my 5th hour yesterday, we wrote and talked about lyrics, and the students created a pretty fun song in about 30 minutes. The participation level from all students was great!! Way to go 5th hour. Check out their creation on the Student example page the song is called Gettin' Money.
ALL HOURS: Don't forget the emotion project is due today (April 1st). If you missed the lyric lesson yesterday see me or another student for the notes.

Music Theory: Please watch the triads all qualities for more help on the lessons learned this week. Tuesday of next week we will be having a quiz on root position triads.
Audio Recording I: Your projects are due next week on Wednesday. Please have outlines and projects turned in by the end of the hour.
Piano: By Friday you should be caught up all the way through Clementine.

Music Theory: Today we went over all intervals. Please watch the all interval tutorial for more information. There will be a test on Monday.
Audio Recording 1: We went over minor keys in class. We will begin our projects on 10/9/13. Watch the minor key tutorial if you were absent or need more help.
Piano: Continue pushing through the book we will be through Mary Ann by Friday.

Music Theory I: Today we went over naming and writing perfect, Augmented, and diminished intervals. If you were absent or need more help please watch the tutorial under the music theory tutorial page. We will work on naming intervals on the computer tomorrow in class.
Audio Recording I: In class we went over sharp key signatures. If you need help on this or missed this lecture please watch the tutorial for sharp keys in the Audio Recording Video tutorials.
Piano: Please have up to When the Saints Go Marching In played by the end of the hour Thursday.

ALL CLASSES S.S.R MATERIAL FOR FRIDAY 9/27/13 EXTRA CREDIT FOR STUDENTS WHO BRING THEIR OWN MATERIAL.
Music Theory I: The past two days we have gone over minor key signatures and scale degrees. Please review the tutorials for minor keys and major/minor scale degrees if you need more help. We will be doing computer work with scale degrees and writing out a few major and minor scales. See the board in class for which scales to write out.
Audio Recording I: Projects are due at the end of the hour on Friday. You need to have all of the mp3s turned in on my flash drive by the end of the hour along with you outlines.
Piano: We are now up to Lightly Row and When the Saints Go Marching In. Please review pickup notes, dotted half notes, and ties in the book. You must have all the way to Old Women played and graded by Friday.

Music Theory I: Today we took our test on note names, key signatures, and the piano. If you were absent you need to make it up. The tests were handed back graded and you can turn it in for 10 points extra added to your test. These will be due on Monday.
Audio Recording I: Continue working on your projects. The last day for these will be next Friday.
Piano: Today we went over the I and V7 chord on page 15 in the book. Review the video of the I and V7 chord on the video tutorial page for piano. By the end of tomorrow you need to have played through Ode to Joy on the staff.

Music Theory I: Today we reviewed Sharp Key Signatures. There will be a test on Thursday that goes over everything since the start of the year all the way to sharp key signatures. Please review the first six tutorials on the tutorial page.
Audio Recording I: Today we went over bass lines, flat key signatures, and the piano. You are beginning your bass line projects starting tomorrow. They will be due a week from Friday. Please review the bass line tutorial, notes on the piano (flats), and flat key signatures under bass tutorials.
Piano: By the end of the hour tomorrow you must be caught up to Frere Jacques.

Music Theory I: Don't forget to do the written portion of todays assignment this weekend. You must write out the key signatures for F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb , and C. We also did 250 questions on flats in music lessons I.
Audio Recording I: Today was the last day for the drum loop project. We will be listening to them in class on Monday.

Music Theory I: Please review the Flat Key Signature tutorial. Tomorrow we will be doing 150 questions flat key signatures on music lessons I. We will also be writing out the key signatures for F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb on paper.
Audio Recording I: We will have one more day to work on our projects. On Monday we will be listening to our projects in groups.
Piano: Remember Friday is the last day to play through Au Clare De La Lune. Please check your grades to see what you may be missing.

Please start reviewing the first 4 tutorials on the theory page to be ready for the quiz on Tuesday. I also assigned 250 questions on Music lessons one ledgers/random staff. Remember Quiz tomorrow. Review the first four tutorials under music theory tutorials.

Piano: Today we had our note name quiz. If you were missing today you need to make up the quiz. We also discussed rhythm, fingers on the piano, and began working on Pages 7 and 8 from the book. You must play Warm Up (Homework grade), Rolling Along (Homework grade), and Au Clare De La Lune (Test) these must be played by Friday.
